About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Anatomical Pathologist to join our team at Alberta Precision Laboratories Ltd. as a Medical Laboratory Specialist. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders, conducting medical research, and supervising laboratory activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and Research: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders through microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens. Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods, and prepare research papers for publication and presentation.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervise laboratory activities, act as consultants to other physicians, and order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Education and Training: Ensure that laboratory staff receive proper education and training to maintain high standards of quality and patient safety.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure that laboratory tests and procedures meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, and pathology residency programs.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a hospital or medical laboratory setting.
  • Certifications: Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC), Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II), and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination.
