About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plumbing Apprentice to join our team at ABM Plumbing & Heating Services Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced plumbers in various aspects of plumbing work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in Reading Blueprints and Specifications

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.

Prepare Tenders and Quotations

Assist in preparing tenders and quotations for plumbing projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

Support Experienced Plumbers

Work alongside experienced plumbers to complete plumbing tasks, including pipe installation, maintenance, and repair.

Measure, Cut, and Bend Pipes

Measure, cut, and bend pipes to the required shape and size, ensuring precision and quality.

Test Pipes for Leaks

Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges, ensuring the plumbing system is functioning correctly.

Determine Piping System Requirements

Determine the piping system requirements and pipe sizing, ensuring the system meets the necessary standards.

Estimate Costs and Materials

Assist in estimating costs and materials required for plumbing projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Plumbing Apprentice will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to confined spaces, wet/damp conditions, and heavy loads. The role requires physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Work Experience

1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.

Language

Fluency in English.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week.
