About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Apprentice to join our team at NEW LINE PLUMBING INC. As a Plumber Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced plumbers in various tasks related to plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Installation: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Preparation and Estimation: Prepare tenders and quotations, estimate costs and materials, and determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Installation and Testing: Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors, cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, and join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Quality Control: Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
Work Environment

As a Plumber Apprentice, you will work in a fast-paced environment with various locations, including commercial, residential, and high-rise building construction sites. You will be exposed to confined spaces, wet/damp conditions, and physically demanding tasks.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the plumbing industry.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a large workload environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, with good judgement and teamwork skills.
