About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Apprentice to join our team at NEW LINE PLUMBING INC. As a Plumber Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced plumbers in various tasks related to plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for plumbing projects, taking into account the requirements of the client and the company.
  • Instruct apprentices in the skills and techniques required for plumbing work, ensuring that they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors, using precision instruments and tools.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using power tools and hand tools.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment, ensuring that the connections are secure and leak-free.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges, identifying and repairing any defects or issues.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing, taking into account the needs of the client and the company.
  • Estimate costs and materials required for plumbing projects, ensuring that the company is able to provide accurate quotes and bids.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size, using precision instruments and tools.
Work Environment

As a Plumber Apprentice at NEW LINE PLUMBING INC, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality plumbing services to our clients. You will be required to work in confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and various locations, including commercial, residential, and high-rise building construction sites.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and wet/damp environments.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to work accurately.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • English language proficiency (written and spoken).
  • 30 hours per week work schedule.
