Position Overview

This role focuses on the creation and management of the Young Parent Program. The facilitator will conduct training and informational workshops, offer supportive coaching, collaborate with community partners, and ensure program objectives are achieved while tailoring individualized plans for each young parent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver case management services and supportive counseling to program participants (approximately 15-20 individuals).
  • Design and execute life skills programs, and facilitate training sessions utilizing external resources.
  • Identify and connect participants with suitable community resources, ensuring initial engagement.
  • Conduct community meetings with participants for resource access and appointments as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the YMCA Child Care team, YMCA Community & Employment Services, and educational staff.
  • Track participant progress and adjust plans to guarantee successful outcomes that promote graduation and future success.
Qualifications
  • A valid Social Worker designation is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counseling environment, particularly with youth, is preferred, especially with trauma-informed practices.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent and child development.
  • Familiarity with community agencies and available resources.
  • Experience in program design and execution.
  • Proficient in group facilitation.
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to Mission, Vision, and Values: Demonstrates a personal understanding of and commitment to the YMCA's mission, vision, and values.
  • Service Orientation: Actively seeks to enhance each individual's experience with the YMCA, developing action plans to address service gaps.
  • Collaboration and Relationship Building: Fosters positive interactions, listens attentively, and communicates effectively to maintain an open communication environment. Shares insights, best practices, and resources with colleagues.
  • Part-time position with a schedule of Monday to Friday.
