Accounting Operations Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the completion of month-end procedures, including the preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Prepare and submit GST/PST filings.
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of inter-company accounts, investigating and adjusting discrepancies as necessary.
- Manage documentation related to equipment, including the setup of new assets and disposals.
- Review and process annual registrations for equipment and vehicles, ensuring timely prorated renewals.
- Assist in the annual renewal process for corporate asset insurance.
- Compile various fleet-related reports for internal executive review.
- Oversee fuel card management and analyze monthly fuel consumption.
- Manage accounts related to Fleet Complete GPS.
- Review and file quarterly IFTA reports.
- Conduct analysis of equipment revenue and cost metrics.
- Supervise annual counts of assets, equipment, and vehicles to verify locations.
- Create ad-hoc reports and perform analyses as required.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary education in accounting.
- 3-5 years of intermediate accounting experience in a related position.
- Prior experience in fleet administration is preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with Explorer Contract Manager (Eclipse) is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
- Self-driven individual who is proactive and takes initiative; capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
