Accounting Operations Manager

Our client, a reputable business, is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and general accounting of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Mentor Accounting Staff: Provide guidance and support to enhance the professional development of accounting personnel.
- Oversee Accounting Functions: Ensure the smooth operation of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all government compliances are completed, including but not limited to T4's, WCB filings, PST, and GST for multiple entities.
- Develop and Maintain Internal Controls: Safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy by implementing and maintaining internal controls.
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Analyze processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement, implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate External Audits: Work with the Manager of Financial Reporting to coordinate and manage external audits.
- Prepare Cash Flow Management and Forecasting: Develop and maintain cash flow management and forecasting.
- CPA Designation: A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Accounting Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Accounting Software and MS Office: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- GAAP and Financial Controls: A strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial controls.
- Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
