Job Title: Transitional Housing Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Transitional Housing Worker to join our team at the Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto Branch. As a key member of our Home for Good Innovative Housing Program, you will play a vital role in providing on-site residential support and case management services to older adults living with mental illness and experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct service provision and support clients based on their goals, orienting them to our programs and services as needed.
  • Perform residential duties, maintaining a safe, clean, and secure environment.
  • Maintain trusting, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues, service providers, and community supports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum college diploma in Social Work/Social Sciences, Recreation Therapy, or Life Skills, or a combination of educational and related work/life experience.
  • At least two years of experience working with adults with complex mental health and addictions issues, community, homelessness, and residential experience considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Concurrent Disorders and the Criminal Justice System as it relates to mental health and skills in Mental Health Assessment and Crisis Intervention.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and understanding of recovery principles as they relate to individuals with mental illness.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and ability to demonstrate a non-homophobic, anti-oppression, and anti-racism approach.
