Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator, Plant Services to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and supervision of day-to-day activities in assigned service delivery areas, coordinating major and minor construction projects, and ensuring the smooth functioning and code compliance of designated facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and operation plans for buildings, building systems, grounds, equipment, and hardware.
  • Lead, supervise, and performance manage designated staff, and investigate work and staff issues as needed.
  • Participate in the management of grievances and labour relations matters, and recruit staff through interviewing and hiring processes.
  • Develop and manage budgets for assigned facilities, and participate in the development of short and long-term plans for facilities infrastructure, capital equipment, and supplies.
  • Monitor and report on the daily work activity of personnel within assigned areas, and coordinate major and minor projects through effective project management and maintenance scheduling techniques.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as facilities management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
