Job Overview:

Langara College is seeking a dedicated professional to take on the role of Supervisor, Counselling Operations. This position is pivotal in managing the administrative functions of the Counselling Services Department. Reporting directly to the Department Chair, the Supervisor will play a key role in guiding the Assistants in their daily responsibilities while actively contributing to the Counselling team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Counselling Services Department, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for students.
  • Support the development and implementation of front-line procedures, policies, and protocols.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, including scheduling, training, and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive student files with the utmost care.
  • Utilize clinical scheduling software and other tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • A two-year Diploma or Associate Degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, or business administration.
  • A minimum of six years of recent experience in a related role, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience in managing confidential information and working with individuals in distress is highly desirable.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, plan, and evaluate the work of team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, and experience in updating website content.
Work Schedule:

This position operates Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
