Your Opportunity:

Unit 32 is a specialized acute medical unit dedicated to providing comprehensive palliative care, support for patients and families, educational resources, bereavement counseling, and focused Oncology nursing services. We are seeking a candidate who excels in collaborative interdisciplinary teamwork to deliver family-centered nursing care. This role is ideal for individuals with leadership experience and current expertise in palliative care and Oncology nursing.

Position Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver a broad spectrum of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Your responsibilities will include utilizing nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, while also providing education, counseling, and advocacy for patients and their families. You will take on a leadership role in promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Your commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient and family-centered care will reflect the core values and vision of Alberta Health Services.

Essential Qualifications:

- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active registration or eligibility for a practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse in the last five (5) years, completion of specific required courses is necessary.

Additional Qualifications:

- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong communication abilities and the capacity to foster effective interpersonal relationships.
- Experience in collaborative care settings.
- Required current experience in Oncology and Palliative care.
- Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to acquire new skills as needed.
- Ongoing commitment to professional development and maintaining continuing competence.
- Ability to work shifts and meet the physical demands of the role.
- A solid attendance record.
- Certification in Oncology and/or Palliative care is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred.
