Practical Nurse Specialist

Position OverviewAs a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in delivering personalized care to our residents. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of nursing duties, ensuring that each resident receives the highest standard of care in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive resident-centered care, adhering to the full scope of practice for LPNs, while honoring the dignity and individuality of each resident and their families.
- Conduct health assessments, monitor vital signs, and document health concerns accurately, ensuring all procedures are performed with precision and in accordance with established protocols.
- Supervise healthcare aides, providing guidance and support based on the needs of residents and the facility.
- Manage medication orders by coordinating with pharmacies and ensuring that all nursing supplies are adequately stocked for uninterrupted care.
- Educate residents and their families about health procedures and support them in understanding and managing their health conditions.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, following established protocols and under the direction of supervisory staff.
- Engage in continuous professional development by attending training sessions and staff meetings to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse designation with a preference for experience in geriatric care.
- Active membership in good standing with the relevant nursing regulatory body and certification in CPR/BCLS.
- Successful completion of a police background check, including vulnerable sector screening.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork and customer service.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in using technology for patient care management.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties associated with the role, including lifting and moving objects as necessary.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods while performing various tasks.
