Role Overview

In the capacity of Azure Administrator, you will oversee the management and administration of a scalable and efficient Azure and O365 cloud infrastructure that aligns with CDIC's operational requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering technical support for both physical and virtual infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and maintaining services within the Azure environment and Office 365.
  • Implementing and overseeing cloud security measures.
  • Integrating new applications into the cloud framework.
  • Providing training and support to staff interacting with cloud systems.
  • Conducting necessary migrations to enhance cloud capabilities.
  • Managing virtualization technologies for effective server operations.
  • Offering recommendations to optimize cloud performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Evaluating technical risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Performing debugging, troubleshooting, and unit testing of solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Developing documentation and technical procedures for user support.
  • Regularly assessing cloud applications, hardware, and software.
  • Collaborating with IT security to ensure cloud privacy and compliance.
  • Responding promptly to technical issues with professionalism.
  • Maintaining the virtual server environment, including disaster recovery systems.
  • Monitoring user requests and applying solutions as necessary.
  • Conducting monthly patch installations and maintaining control records.
  • Supporting the implementation of the disaster recovery plan through infrastructure planning and procedure development.
  • Administering Local Area Network (LAN) functions, including troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
  • Deploying and maintaining corporate applications using various deployment techniques.
  • Providing expertise in storage infrastructure technologies.
  • Assisting with new IT projects by evaluating options and making recommendations.
  • Being available for after-hours support and travel as needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to excellence. You should be a proactive communicator and collaborator, demonstrating integrity in all interactions.

Required qualifications include:

  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications are assets.
  • VMWare Certified Professional certification is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure solutions and cloud engineering principles.
  • A commitment to personal development and continuous learning.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships.
  • Understanding of security and compliance requirements related to Azure services.
  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization and disaster recovery practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Educational Background

A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Microsoft Azure and 5+ years in networking and systems management.

Language Requirements

Proficiency in English is essential.

Security Clearance

Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
