Position Overview

The role of a Commercial Insurance Underwriter at CMB INSURANCE involves assessing and managing risks associated with various insurance applications. This position is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive appropriate coverage while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years in the insurance field
Work Environment
  • Relocation costs covered by employer

  • Engagement with a marine cargo handling company
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze individual and group insurance applications
  • Assess new and renewal applications to evaluate risks, premiums, coverage extent, and conditions
  • Authorize the sale of insurance policies
  • Ensure adherence to government regulations
  • Provide expert underwriting advice
  • Respond to inquiries from clients and internal personnel
  • Compile and prepare underwriting reports
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets
Insurance Expertise
  • Experience in liability, business risk, automobile, fire, and property insurance
Safety and Compliance
  • Criminal record check required
Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure with a large caseload
