About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriter, Commercial Insurance Specialist to join our team at 2299916 ALBERTA LTD. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating and managing insurance risks for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Insurance Risk Evaluation: Review individual and group applications for insurance, evaluating new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage, and other conditions.
  • Policy Approval: Approve the sale of insurance policies, ensuring compliance with government regulations and providing underwriting advice to clients and other company personnel.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with government regulations and prepare underwriting reports to support business decisions.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of liability insurance, business risk insurance, automobile insurance, fire insurance, and property insurance.
  • Computer and Technology Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Spreadsheet, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Windows.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Work Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
