Job Summary

Ramp agents play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of airport ground support services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing under-wing ground support services as contracted by customers, including loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshaling, water, and lavatory servicing.
  • Marshaling aircraft during arrival and departure.
  • Unloading passenger luggage and air cargo, bulk and containers/pallets, onto carts and dollies.
  • Delivering passenger luggage to the claim area and unloading it onto the conveyor system.
  • Delivering air cargo to the appropriate recipient.
  • Operating ground support equipment, including tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, container loaders, baggage tugs, water/lavatory service trucks, aircraft ground power units, aircraft air start units, air stairs, aircraft de-icing units, baggage carts, cargo dollies, and passenger vans.
  • Collecting and loading mail, live animals, wheelchairs, and child strollers onto aircraft.
  • Inspecting ramp areas adjacent to the gate and aircraft for debris and removing/disposing of it when found.
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager.
  • Complying with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier security requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous ramp experience is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and DA an asset.
  • Good English communication skills.
  • The ability to work in inclement weather.
  • Flexibility to work on various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Excellent Health & Safety Awareness.
  • The ability to lift heavy objects that could reach 70 pounds (32 kilograms).
