Job Summary

The Cyber Security Analyst will play a critical role in protecting Red Deer Polytechnic's digital assets from cyber threats. This position will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security threats, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing measures to mitigate risks. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze security threats to identify vulnerabilities and potential risks
  • Implement measures to mitigate risks and protect digital assets
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are followed
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures
  • Provide training and awareness programs for staff on cybersecurity best practices
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of post-secondary training in a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a cybersecurity role
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four (4) year undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Three (3) year undergraduate degree plus one full additional year of university in a related program
