The Opportunity:

This position involves producing, preparing, and disseminating information relevant to local criminal activity to increase operational effectiveness, prevent crime, and apprehend suspects. The role also provides assistance for strategic planning by identifying, gathering, and preparing information related to statistics, demographics, and projections. Additionally, the position involves providing mentorship and direction to less experienced analysts when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement crime analysis strategies to support policing efforts.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and patterns in criminal activity.
  • Prepare and disseminate reports and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced analysts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address crime-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as criminology or criminal justice.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in policing or a related field.
  • Two years' experience in crime analysis or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Remuneration:

$50.59 to $53.25 per hour

Hours of Work:

75 hours biweekly, shift work Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Additional Information:

Must successfully pass a stringent Top Secret RCMP Security Clearance before commencing employment. If you currently have the required clearance, please indicate it clearly in your resume.
