Position Overview:

The Inn at Laurel Point seeks to embody a refined coastal experience through exceptional guest interactions. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the Housekeeping team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of guest accommodations and communal spaces.
  • Assign tasks to housekeeping staff to ensure all areas are serviced efficiently.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms to uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the guest experience, particularly coordinating with the Front Office for timely room readiness.
  • Ensure adherence to service standards and seek continuous improvement in all operational areas.
  • Foster a safe working environment while promoting awareness of health and safety protocols.
  • Assist in the training and development of Housekeeping personnel.
  • Manage lost and found procedures.
  • Facilitate effective communication between shifts and departments regarding any updates, including conducting daily briefings.
  • Perform any additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient understanding of hospitality housekeeping operations is essential.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience in a hospitality setting is advantageous.
  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality & Tourism Management is preferred.
  • A strong passion for guest service is required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Highly organized and results-driven, with the capacity to adapt and perform under pressure.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Opera Property Management System is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is beneficial.
  • Experience in training new or existing staff is an asset.

Job Requirements:

  • Availability for a variety of shifts, including early mornings and days.
  • Ability to start work at 6 AM as scheduled.
  • Full availability for weekdays, weekends, and public holidays is essential.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in Canada.
