The Hotel Room Attendant will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. This position requires a strong commitment to maintaining a positive work environment and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and discuss room assignment sheets with the Housekeeping Supervisor at the beginning of every shift to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, hygiene, and cleanliness standards to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy environment.
  • Follow Coast Hotels' procedures for cleaning and preparing guest rooms to ensure a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Change linens in assigned guest rooms according to established policies and procedures to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Ensure that all room amenities are in place, and that all drapes, sheers, windows, and balcony doors are closed and locked prior to room completion to maintain a secure and comfortable environment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of assigned rooms for deficiencies and complete work orders for the maintenance department to address any issues promptly.
  • Conduct room checks and inform Housekeeping of any discrepancies to ensure accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Turn in all lost and found items to the Housekeeping Office immediately upon leaving an assigned floor to maintain a secure and organized environment.
  • Ensure that the housekeeping cart is fully supplied, and that all needed supplies and equipment are in good working order to maintain a efficient and effective operation.
  • Sort recyclable items according to Coast Hotels' recycling program guidelines to maintain a sustainable and environmentally friendly environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-year experience in a similar position is an asset.
  • Successful completion of high school education is preferred, but a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 40 pounds, to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time, ability to stoop, kneel, and reach, or perform repetitive foot and hand action, and the ability to bend at the waist.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking team environment.
  • Demonstrated superior customer service philosophy.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Exemplifies Coast's core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as well as part-time to full-time work.
