ABOUT THE TEAM

The Product Owner (PO) plays a crucial role within the Private Markets agile team, focusing on maximizing the value delivered by the Technology, Data, and Operations (TDO) group. The Private Markets PO engages with various clients (business partners) to deliver on Private Markets Asset Classes and Operations areas, including Tax, Legal, Private Market Risk, and Due Diligence.

In essence, the incumbent is tasked with developing product roadmaps in collaboration with business stakeholders, prioritizing tasks based on value and budget, leading agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, demos, prioritization meetings), and effectively collaborating with delivery teams to continuously provide business value and identify untapped opportunities.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As a Product Owner, Private Markets Solutions, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary liaison and being accountable for identifying client needs alongside internal stakeholders.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and communicating the product roadmap in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Architects to stay updated on technology trends.
  • Documenting business cases, including anticipated benefits.
  • Managing and overseeing the allocated budget.
  • Structuring and prioritizing the product backlog in conjunction with the business and the team.
  • Articulating business needs and value for the delivery squads during agile sessions, while maintaining focus on the highest value increments aligned with the product strategy.
  • Managing client delivery expectations and coordinating actions to meet delivery commitments in collaboration with other TDO agile teams.
  • Removing delivery impediments within your control or escalating issues to Managers to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Leading and contributing to business analysis and documentation of solutions, as well as participating in incident resolution.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, information technologies, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an agile environment.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in business systems related to Investments and Operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with hands-on experience managing all stages of a product life cycle (e.g., SDLC).
  • Certification as a Product Owner (e.g., PSPO, etc.) is an asset.
  • Strong active listening, oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and teamwork skills driven by a positive attitude.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bilingualism in English and French.
