Key Responsibilities

As part of the Personal and Business Banking division, you will operate in a dynamic Banking Centre, making a substantial difference in the lives of our clients. In the role of a Financial Services Associate, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the needs of personal and small business clients, recommending tailored solutions to help them meet their financial objectives. You will manage a portfolio of mortgage clients, focusing on enhancing client relationships. Flexibility to work during banking centre hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential. To ensure an exceptional client experience, you may be required to work at various banking centres within a reasonable travel distance.

How You Will Excel
  • Client Engagement: Meet with clients to identify their personal and business priorities, offering advice and forward-thinking financial plans. Ensure that clients' investment, financial, and credit needs are addressed through a comprehensive retail banking offering or by connecting them with the appropriate colleagues.
  • Relationship Development: Participate in marketing and outreach initiatives to demonstrate your commitment to clients and their communities. Expand your network, strengthen existing relationships, and collaborate with your team to connect clients with the right resources and opportunities.
  • Business Growth: Build relationships by networking with clients' families and friends to discover opportunities and refer them to the right partners. Reach out to both existing and potential clients to identify avenues for growth and revenue. Engage in community and banking centre events to enhance CIBC's presence and market share.
  • Technology Utilization: Become proficient in technology and share your expertise by introducing clients to our mobile banking applications, assisting them in managing their banking needs more effectively.

  • You possess 2 to 3 years of experience in providing financial advice and achieving sales results through consultative conversations.
  • You hold current accreditation and good standing in Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada). Accreditation in CFSA (Certificate of Financial Services Advice) is an asset.
  • You are a certified professional in Ontario, with current accreditation in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC) and must meet eligibility requirements for MFDA licensing.
