Key Responsibilities

As part of the Personal and Business Banking division, you will operate in a dynamic Banking Centre, making a positive difference in the lives of our clients. In the role of a Financial Services Associate, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs of personal and small business clients, recommending tailored solutions to help them reach their financial objectives. You will manage a portfolio of mortgage clients, focusing on enhancing client relationships. Flexibility to work during banking hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential. To ensure an exceptional client experience, you may be required to work at various banking centres within a reasonable distance.

Success Factors
  • Client Engagement: Meet with clients to understand their financial priorities, provide tailored advice, and develop a proactive financial plan. Ensure that clients' investment and credit needs are addressed through our comprehensive banking offerings or by connecting them with the appropriate colleagues.
  • Relationship Development: Participate in marketing and outreach initiatives to demonstrate your commitment to clients and their communities. Expand your network, strengthen existing relationships, and collaborate with your team to connect clients with the right resources.
  • Business Growth: Build relationships by networking with clients' families and friends to identify opportunities and refer them to suitable partners. Reach out to both existing and potential clients to discover avenues for growth and revenue. Engage in community events and client appreciation activities to enhance CIBC's presence and market share.
  • Technology Utilization: Become proficient in technology. Share your expertise by introducing clients to our mobile banking tools, assisting them in managing their banking needs effectively.

  • You possess 2-3 years of experience in providing financial advice and achieving sales through consultative conversations.
  • You hold relevant certifications and maintain good standing in the Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada). Additional accreditation in CFSA (Certificate of Financial Services Advice) is advantageous.
  • You have current accreditation in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC) and meet the eligibility criteria for MFDA licensing.
