Key Responsibilities

As part of the Personal and Business Banking division, you will operate in a dynamic Banking Centre, playing a crucial role in enhancing our clients' financial well-being. In the role of a Financial Services Associate, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the needs of individual and small business clients, offering tailored solutions to help them meet their financial objectives. You will manage a portfolio of mortgage clients, focusing on strengthening client relationships. Flexibility to work during banking hours, including evenings and weekends, is essential. To ensure an exceptional client experience, you may be required to work at various banking centres within a reasonable distance.

Qualifications for Success
  • Client Engagement - Meet with clients to identify their personal and business goals, advise on suitable solutions, and provide a forward-thinking financial strategy. Ensure clients' investment, financial, and credit needs are addressed through a comprehensive retail banking offering or by connecting them with the appropriate colleagues in Imperial Service and Business Banking.
  • Relationship Development - Participate in marketing and outreach initiatives to demonstrate your commitment to clients and their communities. Expand your network, deepen existing connections, and collaborate as a team to ensure clients are linked to the right resources and opportunities.
  • Business Growth - Cultivate relationships by networking with clients' families and friends to uncover new opportunities and refer them to the right partners. Reach out to both existing and potential clients to identify avenues for future growth and revenue. Engage in community and banking centre events, such as business development activities and client appreciation programs, to enhance CIBC's presence and increase market share.
  • Utilizing Technology - Become proficient in technology. Share your expertise by introducing clients to our mobile banking tools, assisting them in managing their banking needs more effectively.

  • You have 2 to 3 years of experience in providing financial guidance to clients and achieving sales results through consultative conversations.
  • You hold relevant certifications. You have current accreditation and good standing in Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada). Additional accreditation in CFSA (Certificate of Financial Services Advice) is advantageous.
  • You are a certified professional in Ontario. You possess current accreditation and good standing in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)/Canadian Investments Funds Course (CIFC) and meet the eligibility criteria for MFDA licensing.
