Position Overview

The City of St. John's, through the Department of Community Services, is seeking a qualified instructor for our Adult Photography programs.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and implement photography skills training for adults in a group environment.

• Collaborate with the Community Programs and Services - Adult & Seniors Coordinator to enhance program offerings.

• Lead and facilitate weekly program sessions effectively.

• Manage the procurement and maintenance of necessary materials for the program.

• Track and report on participant attendance.

Important Notes

The selected candidate will be expected to engage in all relevant training programs associated with this role. The responsibilities outlined above represent the core functions of the position and are not exhaustive of all tasks that may be required.

Required Qualifications


• Proven experience or training in photography instruction.

• Background in teaching photography in group settings.

• Strong communication abilities.

• Experience working with adult learners.

• Formal education such as a diploma, certificate, or degree is advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

• The successful candidate must obtain a current Criminal Record Screening Certificate & Vulnerable Sector Check.

• Content for the program should be prepared prior to the commencement of employment.

Work Schedule

Program sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM weekly.
