Position Overview
The City of St. John's, through the Department of Community Services, is seeking an instructor for Adult Fiddle programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement fiddle instruction for adults at various skill levels in a group format.
• Collaborate with the Community Programs and Services-Adult & Seniors Coordinator to provide insights and recommendations for the program.
• Lead and facilitate weekly program sessions.
• Manage and procure necessary materials and supplies for the program.
• Track and report on participant attendance.
Important Information
The selected candidate will be expected to engage in all relevant training programs associated with this role and other related responsibilities. The aforementioned duties represent the primary functions of the position and are not intended to encompass every task that may be required.
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience or training in Fiddle instruction.
• Background in teaching Fiddle in a group environment.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Experience working with adult learners.
• Formal education in a relevant field (diploma/certificate/degree) is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
• The successful candidate must obtain a current Criminal Record Screening Certificate & Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within the last six months).
• The instructor is expected to prepare specific lesson plans prior to commencing employment.
Work Schedule
Program sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM weekly.
