Position Overview
The City of St. John's, within the Department of Community Services, is seeking an instructor for Adult Fiddle programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement fiddle instruction for adults at various skill levels in a group environment.
• Collaborate with the Community Programs and Services-Adult & Seniors Coordinator to enhance the program.
• Lead weekly sessions with direct involvement in program delivery.
• Manage the procurement and upkeep of necessary materials for the program.
• Track and report on participant attendance.
Important Information
The selected candidate will be expected to engage in all relevant training programs associated with this role and related tasks. The responsibilities outlined above are intended to provide a general overview of the primary functions of the position and should not be interpreted as an exhaustive list of all potential duties.
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience or training in Fiddle instruction.
• Background in teaching Fiddle programs in a group setting.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Experience working with adult learners.
• Educational credentials such as a diploma, certificate, or degree are advantageous.
Additional Requirements
• The successful candidate must obtain a current Criminal Record Screening Certificate & Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencing employment.
• The selected individual will be expected to prepare specific lesson plans before starting the role.
Work Schedule
Program Schedule: Wednesdays from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM weekly.
