Position Overview
The City of St. John's, within the Department of Community Services, is seeking a qualified instructor for Adult Photography programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement photography skills training for adults in a group environment.
• Collaborate with the Community Programs and Services - Adult & Seniors Coordinator to provide insights and recommendations for the program.
• Lead and facilitate weekly sessions effectively.
• Manage and procure necessary materials for the program.
• Track and report attendance.
Important Information
The selected candidate will be expected to engage in all relevant training programs associated with this role and any related duties. The responsibilities outlined above are intended to provide a general overview of the primary functions of the position and should not be viewed as an exhaustive list of all tasks that may be required.
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience or training in photography instruction.
• Background in teaching photography in group settings.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Experience working with adult learners.
• Formal education such as a diploma, certificate, or degree is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
• The successful candidate must obtain a current Criminal Record Screening Certificate & Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencing employment.
• It is expected that the candidate will have program content prepared before starting the role.
Work Schedule
Program sessions are scheduled for Wednesdays from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM weekly.
