Join our team at Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a leading global consultancy focused on sustainability and environmental management. We are seeking a seasoned Senior EHS Lead Assessor with a proven background in the industry. This position offers the flexibility to work from various locations across North America, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to our international certification and assurance services.
Job Overview
In this role, you will spearhead engagements for ERM services, including accredited management system evaluations for ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, as well as GHG verification and data assurance both onshore and offshore. You will also engage in a growing array of responsible stewardship standards applicable to operational sites and supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Assessor/Lead Verifier: Oversee assessments of client operations in accordance with ERM procedures, compile reports, and draw assessment conclusions.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior assessors in their professional development.
- Collaboration: Actively participate in the ERM assessment team, sharing insights and identifying business growth opportunities in collaboration with ERM Partners; contribute to the enhancement of ERM tools and methodologies.
- Project Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for clients within ERM, managing assignments, crafting proposals and contracts, and ensuring project delivery aligns with established plans.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, including:
- Leading operational site evaluations.
- Developing or assessing management systems aimed at enhancing EHS performance.
- Experience in heavy industries such as Oil & Gas, Mining, or other high-risk sectors.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Strong project management skills with a focus on delivery.
- A degree in a relevant technical or scientific discipline.
- Exceptional communication skills, fostering trust across diverse organizational levels and cultures.
- Adept at identifying root causes, proposing corrective actions, and producing clear, concise reports.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills; multilingual abilities are advantageous.
