Chief Engineer

West Coast Reduction Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at our Calgary plant location. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of our steam plant systems, equipment, and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain all steam plant equipment, ensuring compliance with ABSA and WCRL standards.
  • Manage and schedule steam plant shift operators, and schedule documents for necessary safety testing and maintenance.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and employee performance management of the steam engineers.
  • Maintain liaison between the steam plant, site management, procurement, and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Class 2 Power Engineering Certificate.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in a plant operation environment.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, knowledgeable of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings, and manuals to determine work procedures.
