The Role:

Reporting to the Program Director of the Nurse Practitioner Program through the Clinical Lead, the Clinical Placement Coordinator will be integral to the placement team. Responsibilities include screening potential preceptors, addressing student inquiries regarding clinical placements in various practicum courses, and securing clinical placements for Nurse Practitioner students.

Collaboration with team members is essential, as the coordinator will maintain professional relationships with preceptors post-agreement and develop a comprehensive database to track all relevant preceptor and clinical placement information. The coordinator is also tasked with verifying student eligibility and course completion for prerequisite requirements prior to processing preceptor requests.

Timely communication with the Clinical Lead regarding any issues related to clinical placements is crucial. The coordinator must possess a solid clinical and nursing knowledge base to assess the suitability of clinical placements, ensuring students meet the Nurse Practitioner Entry-Level Competencies as established by CRNA.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.

Familiarity with the CRNA Entry-Level Competencies for Nurse Practitioners and related standards of practice is advantageous.

Exceptional computer and data management skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, BANNER, and ACCESS. Knowledge of clinical software such as HSPnet is also beneficial.
