FHD is committed to research excellence and hosts a Canada Research Chair focused on Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Management. Position Overview
The Master of Nursing Program at Athabasca University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position. This full-time role entails responsibilities that include:
Teaching Responsibilities: The faculty member will design, instruct, and assess graduate-level courses within the Nurse Practitioner Program.
Research and Scholarship: The successful candidate will establish and advance a robust research agenda in a strategic area, which encompasses securing research funding, disseminating findings through various channels, and collaborating with partners and stakeholders.
Community Engagement: Contribute expertise to community organizations and agencies that benefit from the university's outreach.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a Doctorate in nursing and be eligible for registration as a licensed Nurse Practitioner in Alberta. A minimum of three to five years of relevant academic or professional experience, along with leadership in coordinating graduate-level Nurse Practitioner courses, is essential. The selected candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development, continuous learning, and active contributions to research, teaching, and community service.
As an innovative educator, the candidate should have experience in online learning environments and the potential to develop a strategic and impactful research program. Effective collaboration and respect within larger teams are crucial. A willingness to grow and adapt beyond established strengths is expected.
