About the Role

Pacific Coast Community Resources is seeking a skilled Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will work closely with individuals living in staffed homes within their community, providing care and support to empower them to live independently and self-determiningly.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the rights and choices of supported individuals are respected and advocate as needed.
  2. Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, family members, professionals, and community members.
  3. Participate in the development, implementation, and documentation of Personal Service Plans.
  4. Assist with activities of daily living, medication administration, and record-keeping.
  5. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure high standards of care, health, and safety.

Requirements

  1. Grade 12 education.
  2. Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Minimum 2 years of experience in community social services/health care.
  4. Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates.
  5. Previous behaviour management course/training.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  8. Restricted class 4 driver's licence (for Full-Time positions).
  9. Satisfactory Driver's Abstract.
  10. Criminal record clearance for children and vulnerable adults.
  11. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status as per current Public Health Orders.
  12. TB Test.
  13. Moderate computer literacy.
  14. Eligibility to work in Canada.
