About the Role

As a Strategic Development Trainee at EMCO Corporation, you will participate in the five phases of our program to learn all aspects of the business in our industry: logistics and receiving, sales, purchasing, account management, and more.

Key Responsibilities

Phase 1 – Warehouse Logistics: Learn about the products we sell, how they are transported from suppliers to customers, and understand the levels of sales support.

Phase 2 – Operations: Participate in customer service, sales floor operations, order management, stock control, pricing, credit management, financial reporting, and more.

Phase 3 – Internal Sales/Project Management: Activities will range from assisting clients with questions about products or services to managing large-scale projects.

Phase 4 – External Sales/Customer Management: Learn how to find new sales opportunities, sell our products, negotiate contracts, and build relationships with clients and suppliers.

Phase 5 – In this phase, you will consider everything you have learned and establish your career path preference.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree from a college or university
  • Positive attitude focused on achieving results
  • Desire to learn and continuously improve
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and high standards of integrity
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience or knowledge of plumbing and construction products sold in the EMCO Centre
