Driver Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver Operations Manager to join our team at American Iron and Metal. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials across our network.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and leading a team of drivers to ensure peak performance and adherence to safety protocols
  • Providing guidance, coaching, and support to drivers to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Monitoring and evaluating driver performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and safety
  • Collaborating with dispatchers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination
  • Developing and implementing transportation plans and schedules to meet operational targets and customer needs
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports on driver activities, performance, and incidents

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management position in the transportation or logistics industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management software
  • GEOTAB familiarity is an asset
  • Active driver's license with a clear record
