Position Overview:

Sun Peaks Resort is renowned for its exceptional guest services within the mountain resort sector. We are in search of a seasoned, innovative, and collaborative leader to spearhead and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and initiatives across the organization. A crucial aspect of this role involves creatively enhancing the brand and its associated revenue streams. The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking abilities, a passion for learning, and the capacity to inspire and motivate others.

Compensation Details:

Annual salary of $95,000.00

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily sedentary; job activities may involve handling loads up to 5 kg in an indoor environment.
  • Ability to safely ski or snowboard; DH or Enduro bike riding is required.
  • This position necessitates physical presence at the designated location, with some travel expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the marketing vision for Sun Peaks Resort and the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel through strategic planning and tactical execution of key objectives.
  • Marketing and Communications Integration: Guide the strategy and alignment between marketing and communication campaigns to effectively achieve business goals.
  • Oversight of Business Unit Marketing: Provide marketing leadership for all key business units, including ski, bike, hike, golf, food and beverage, rental and retail, sports school, accommodation, and events.
  • Management of Paid Media: Develop and oversee all paid media initiatives, including planning, budgeting, negotiation, execution, and evaluation.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor progress and generate performance reports.
  • Email and Database Marketing: Oversee the strategy and execution of email and database marketing efforts.
  • Content Strategy Development: Lead the strategy and execution of content development.
  • E-commerce and Web Strategy: Manage the strategy and execution of e-commerce initiatives, ensuring ongoing website optimization for enhanced user experience.
  • Creative Direction and Brand Development: Lead the creative vision and brand development, ensuring alignment of all marketing materials and campaigns with the brand identity.
  • Metrics and Analytics Management: Optimize key metrics and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Marketing Services Management: Oversee the marketing services function across the organization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage vendor and third-party relationships, including negotiations and contracts.
  • Support for Communication Strategies: Assist in executing key communication strategies through collaborative efforts.
  • Social Media Management: Stay informed on trends and adapt strategies as necessary, supporting the team in producing strategic content.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work collaboratively across various departments and business units.
  • Leadership and Autonomy: Exemplify organizational values and operate with a high degree of autonomy as a key leadership team member.
  • Community Engagement: Contribute to community engagement strategies.
  • Policy Development Support: Assist in developing departmental policies and procedures.
  • Diversity and Inclusion in Marketing: Ensure marketing efforts reflect a commitment to diversity and inclusion, integrating DEI principles into all strategies.
  • Compliance and Training: Adhere to the organization's code of conduct and attend all required training programs.
  • General Duties: Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the successful operation of the departments.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Degree in marketing, commerce, or a related field, with advanced knowledge in digital marketing.
  • Proven management skills with strong business acumen and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in relationship management and building collaborative partnerships.
  • Experienced in executing integrated marketing campaigns across various platforms.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on metrics and performance reporting.
  • Adept at working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with mountain resort products and the competitive landscape.
  • Previous experience in a ski resort is an asset.
  • A passion for outdoor recreation is beneficial.
  • Highly proficient in computer skills, including web analytics and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
