Job Summary:

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Legal Support Specialist to join their Winnipeg practice on a full-time basis. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our legal counsel in various capacities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage electronic documents and files, ensuring accuracy and organization
  • Perform word processing, filing, and faxing tasks with precision and efficiency
  • Conduct thorough legal research and investigative tasks to support our legal team
  • Organize documents for scanning and copying, maintaining confidentiality and security
  • Input and retrieve data from computer databases, ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Draft clear and concise communications and memos to support our legal team
  • Oversee matter management and recordkeeping, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Retrieve electronic documents from court and agency websites, staying up-to-date with relevant information
  • Ensure accuracy of copied documents, maintaining high standards of quality

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a legal support role
  • Solid understanding of Civil Litigation principles and practices
  • Experience in drafting various legal documents, including contracts and agreements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to work on-site in Winnipeg, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
