Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Labour Law Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the needs of our service delivery organizations in the Manitoba health system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and educate management on labour law matters, including collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration files, and strategic planning.
  • Support the development and implementation of labour relations strategies to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with health sector organizations and health authorities to provide labour law expertise and support.
  • Manage and resolve labour-related issues, including grievances and arbitrations, in a fair and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including union representatives and management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in labour law, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labour law and regulations, including collective bargaining and grievance procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex labour-related issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
