We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Plant Engineer to become a vital part of our team at our window production facility.

Role Overview

Serve as a technical advisor for both internal and external stakeholders regarding all Canadian window offerings; manage technical documentation; enhance the AMI technical center to encompass Canadian products while updating shape min/max dimensions, drawing archives, and exploded product visuals. Spearhead initiatives to boost Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) at the home site and disseminate findings, data, and solutions across all facilities. Provide training to team members on kaizen principles, methodologies, tools, and execution; lead and implement Kaizen activities on the production floor, directly collaborating with team members and processes. Define and monitor all kaizen initiatives to meet established targets using the PDCA methodology. Oversee projects by supplying site personnel or vendors with engineering specifications for new machinery and necessary tooling; maintain project schedules; continuously assess actual project expenditures against budgeted costs to ensure projects remain within financial limits; supervise the installation and commissioning of new equipment or tooling. Examine production and maintenance data to pinpoint root causes of downtime and scrap, executing irreversible corrective measures and ongoing improvement initiatives. Develop and implement strategies to enhance manufacturing processes or tooling life cycles, ensuring profitability, quality, and safety of plant products. Assist manufacturing and continuous improvement teams with equipment or tooling-related challenges as needed. Provide data-driven insights for capital optimization and manage capital projects effectively. Collaborate with corporate engineering and sales teams on new product development for the Canadian market; approve and document product modifications (ECN, PENC, etc.). Deliver technical training for site maintenance and production personnel as required. Enhance and maintain documentation for site production assets. Conduct capability assessments on both new and existing processes. Engage with key equipment and tooling suppliers.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an industrial engineering discipline. At least 5 years of experience in Process/Manufacturing engineering within a production environment. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with WCM or Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Workplace Organization, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), VA/NVA measurement, 5S program, Visual Control, SMED, JIT, OEE, SWOT, Poka-Yoke (error proofing), line layout design, time study techniques, and root cause analysis. Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and equipment safety standards.
