Collections and Instruction Librarian

Job Summary
Nipissing University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Collections and Instruction Librarian to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Library Instruction Team to plan and deliver Information Literacy Instruction sessions for students, as well as providing research appointments for graduate and faculty researchers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective information literacy instruction programs for students
- Provide research support and guidance to students, faculty, and staff
- Collaborate with the Library Instruction Team to plan and deliver instruction sessions
- Contribute to the development of the library's collections and resources
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in library and information services
Requirements
- Master of Library and Information Studies degree from an ALA-accredited program
- Minimum of one year of directly related experience in an academic library
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Foundational knowledge of library principles and practices, intellectual freedom, ethics, privacy, and confidentiality
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced academic library environment. The library is a member of several professional organizations and participates in various initiatives to support teaching, learning, and research.
