Position Overview:

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who will play a crucial role in identifying and cultivating business opportunities. This position involves establishing and nurturing relationships, driving sales and revenue, managing negotiations, and exploring market expansion. Your efforts will significantly contribute to our mission of empowering women, particularly immigrants and BIWoC, to achieve their career aspirations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research to uncover new business opportunities, including emerging markets, growth sectors, trends, and potential partnerships.
  • Formulate and execute business development strategies that align with the long-term vision of the organization.
  • Lead initiatives to generate new sales leads, actively pursuing and securing business agreements that meet company objectives.
  • Meet or surpass sales targets, contributing to the overall financial growth of the organization.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline, monitoring progress towards sales goals and providing performance reports.
  • Perform market analysis to grasp industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer requirements.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to guide business strategies and pinpoint opportunities for market growth.

Essential Duties:

  • Continuously seek ways to enhance the effectiveness of business development strategies and processes.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and innovative business development techniques.
  • Lead negotiations with clients and partners to secure advantageous terms and agreements.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal standards.
  • Effectively close deals, ensuring alignment with the organization’s financial and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as Marketing, Product Development, and Operations to ensure cohesive business development efforts.
  • Provide insights to internal teams regarding market trends, customer preferences, and product development opportunities.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing business development activities, sales performance, and market insights.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage sales activities and monitor progress against targets.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management, aiding in strategic decision-making.
  • Build and maintain a robust professional network to support business development initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and emerging trends that could influence the business landscape.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or a related discipline is typically required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to manage sales activities and analyze data is essential.
  • Ability to assess market trends, identify business opportunities, and devise strategies for market entry or expansion.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate business performance and inform decision-making.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is advantageous, particularly for roles involving international business development.
