Lead Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Estimator to join our team at Kiewit. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and presenting estimates for specific project proposal activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements, including owner's plans and specifications.
- Lead the estimating team in the preparation of cost estimates for major projects across Canada.
- Coordinate with discipline leads, estimators, project planners, procurement, and proposal teams to develop a complete proposal for clients.
- Perform quantitative evaluations of scope of work, labor, material costs, and construction equipment requirements.
- Validate quantities given by discipline estimators and review supplier and subcontractor cost propositions.
- Prepare comprehensive summaries of estimates for presentation to management teams and external clients.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial estimating.
- Excellent knowledge of the Canadian construction market.
- Excellent communication skills in French required, English a strong asset.
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, AutoCad, and BlueBeam software.
- Experience in industrial, hydro, oil and gas, and mining is an asset.
