Senior Estimator

PCL is a leading general contractor seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough analysis of contract documents, including isometric, as-built, and engineering drawings, to determine project requirements and identify potential risks.
- Develop and maintain critical path schedules, including milestone dates and completion timelines, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Lead the pricing process for medium to large projects, including lump sum and construction management contracts.
- Collaborate with operations teams to complete full quantity take-offs and establish trade buy-out strategies.
- Prepare and present estimates and proposals to clients, highlighting the value and benefits of our services.
- Perform quantity, material, and labor take-offs from drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Document all information related to the estimate and maintain accurate records for future reference.
- Conduct risk and opportunity analyses to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with external consultants and project management organizations to estimate project budget requirements and coordinate tender development processes.
- Monitor client project-specific success criteria and provide solutions to ensure project success.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Gold Seal certification in estimating required.
- 12 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, with 12 months of onsite experience preferred.
- Proven track record of leading successful pursuits valued up to $250 million in delivery model hard bid/lump sum, construction management/cost reimbursable/target price, and/or design build.
- Experience with self-perform estimate and productivity understanding.
- Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, sequencing, potential problems, and timelines.
- Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity take-off procedures, trade contractor procurement, pricing, and bid closing procedures.
- Expertise in understanding and teaching contract terms for various delivery models and identifying contract risks and opportunities.
- Ability to lead successful teams and develop productive working relationships with owners, peers, and industry representatives.
