Ganotec is a full service, heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Estimator to join our team.

Job Summary

As a Lead Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and presenting estimates for specific project proposal activities. You will provide estimating leadership and guidance to projects, develop conceptual estimates and perform cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans and specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the project and develop an execution plan as the basis for the estimate
  • Lead the estimating team in the preparation of cost estimates for major projects across Canada
  • Coordinate with discipline leads and estimators, project planners, procurement, and proposal teams to develop a complete proposal for clients
  • Perform a quantitative evaluation of the scope of work and evaluate labour, material cost and construction equipment requirements for the project
  • Validate quantities given by discipline estimators and review and evaluate suppliers and subcontract cost propositions
  • Prepare a comprehensive summary of the estimate to present to the management team and prepare a comprehensive presentation and summary of the estimate for external clients
  • Maintain a professional and trustworthy relationship with clients, professionals, subcontractors and suppliers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
  • About 8 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial estimating
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian construction market
  • Excellent communication skills in French required, English a strong asset
  • Advanced computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, AutoCad and BlueBeam software an asset
