Remote Location: Southwestern Ontario

Position Overview

The role involves developing, nurturing, and enhancing client accounts through consistent engagement with businesses in the relevant industry within a designated territory. The successful candidate will consult with business owners, managers, and their teams regarding the products and services offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily focused on field sales (80%) with a smaller portion dedicated to inside sales and administrative tasks (20%).
  • Manage an established sales territory for dealers and pet retail outlets.
  • Create and implement a strategic sales coverage plan.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to specialty pet stores.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with colleagues and industry partners.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all activities, including expense and call reports.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to meet regional sales objectives.
  • Keep management updated on industry trends and developments.
  • Process orders and prepare quotations.
  • Manage customer credits and returns efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail.
  • Preferred experience in industry-related sales.
  • Excellent communication and planning abilities.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Positive, self-motivated, results-driven, and a disciplined team player.
  • Experience in animal health is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

Candidates should possess one or more of the following:

  • A university degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least three years of experience in business-to-business sales.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the companion animal sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Business.
  • Proven sales performance history.
  • Proficient in P.C. skills, including spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Efficient use of technology, including Microsoft 365, accounting software, and MS Outlook and Excel applications.
  • Familiarity with Excel is a plus.
