Field Manager

As a vital member of our team, the Field Manager plays a crucial role in supervising and directing the deployment of Screening Officer personnel at our airport facilities. This position emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of efficiency and service quality within screening operations. The Field Manager will primarily operate from the Pacific Regional Operations Centre (PROC) when not engaged in field activities, while also taking on significant responsibilities related to scheduling and resource management. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adept at multi-tasking and making swift decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the deployment of Screening Personnel across various checkpoints to achieve Wait-Time Service Levels (WTSL) and Throughput objectives.
  • Monitor and manage screening activities at Pre-Board Screening (PBS), Hold Baggage Screening (HBS), Non-Passenger Screening Terminal (NPST), and Non-Passenger Screening Vehicles (NPSV) to ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Implement real-time operational modifications as authorized.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers to ensure effective staffing of Screening Officers, maintaining optimal personnel levels.
  • Facilitate communication regarding breaks, redeployment, and upcoming training sessions.
  • Provide timely updates to the operations team concerning passenger volumes, Screening personnel counts, and airline flight schedules.
  • Communicate anticipated fluctuations in passenger volumes for proactive preparation.
  • Assume key responsibilities in PROC, including strategic oversight and resource distribution.
  • Coordinate shuttles between NPS-V checkpoints.
  • Analyze passenger data and assess staffing requirements at each checkpoint to enhance Screening Officer deployment.
  • Compile and disseminate reports for various stakeholders.
  • Monitor sick leave and make proactive staffing decisions.
  • Conduct audits related to documentation and logistics at checkpoints, including Occupational Health & Safety Manuals and equipment checks.
  • Distribute uniforms, equipment, and materials to various checkpoints throughout the airport.
  • Facilitate the movement of Screening Officers between checkpoints, utilizing vehicles as necessary.
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of managerial experience.
  • Prior experience in a similar role involving resource deployment.
  • Experience in aviation security or a related sector.
  • Experience in a unionized setting is an advantage.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Ability to successfully complete Occupational First Aid Level 1 training.
  • A relevant diploma or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Capability to analyze data and make strategic decisions in real-time.
  • Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and standards.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to obtain Transportation Security Clearance (TSC).
  • Ability to complete Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) Training and achieve D/A certification.
  • Ability to complete Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate (A-ROC).
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

Work Hours: These positions require flexibility to work morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts as needed.
