Field Manager

As a key member of our team, the Field Manager plays a crucial role in supervising and directing the deployment of Screening Officer personnel at various checkpoints. This position is essential for ensuring that our operations maintain high standards of efficiency and service quality. The Field Manager will primarily operate from the Pacific Regional Operations Centre (PROC) when not engaged in field activities, and will also take on significant responsibilities in scheduling and resource management. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that demands effective multi-tasking and quick decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the deployment of Screening Personnel to ensure compliance with Wait-Time Service Levels (WTSL) and Throughput objectives.
  • Monitor and manage screening operations at various checkpoints, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
  • Implement real-time operational adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers to optimize the deployment of Screening Officers, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Facilitate communication regarding personnel breaks, redeployment, and training activities.
  • Provide timely updates to the operations team about passenger volumes, personnel counts, and flight schedules.
  • Anticipate fluctuations in passenger volumes to ensure effective operational readiness.
  • Assume key responsibilities in PROC, including strategic oversight and resource management.
  • Coordinate transportation between checkpoints as needed.
  • Analyze passenger data to assess staffing requirements at each checkpoint for optimal deployment.
  • Compile and disseminate reports for various stakeholders.
  • Monitor attendance and proactively manage staffing levels.
  • Conduct audits related to documentation and logistics at checkpoints, ensuring compliance with safety manuals and equipment standards.
  • Distribute uniforms, equipment, and materials across different checkpoints.
  • Facilitate the movement of Screening Officers between checkpoints, utilizing appropriate vehicles as necessary.
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of managerial experience in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in resource deployment or a similar role.
  • Background in aviation security or a related sector.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Ability to complete Occupational First Aid Level 1 training.
  • A diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Capability to analyze data and make strategic decisions promptly.
  • Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and standards.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to obtain Transportation Security Clearance (TSC).
  • Successful completion of Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) Training and D/A certification.
  • Ability to complete Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate (A-ROC).
Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

Work Hours: This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and nights.
