The Role
We are currently in search of a Planner for Fixed Equipment to become a part of our Maintenance Planning and Control Team. This is a permanent position with a standard work schedule.
As a Planner for Fixed Equipment, your role will be pivotal in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Fixed Equipment Maintenance team through the proficient application of established processes and protocols. Your expertise will be essential in planning maintenance activities for the Fixed Maintenance Department and may involve providing supervisory support as required.
In this role, you will:
- Follow maintenance business protocols as specified in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) utilizing approved systems and standards.
- Implement the planning phase for all work orders, including systematic and non-systematic maintenance tasks.
- Manage work order backlogs with a focus on safety and prioritization based on urgency and deadlines.
- Collaborate with the Scheduler to ensure adherence to planning and scheduling processes.
- Track key performance indicators and actively pursue plant objectives.
- Identify and escalate critical issues that may hinder the timely execution of the work schedule.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including superintendents, supervisors, and team members.
- Provide supervisory relief as necessary, ensuring accountability for safety, teamwork, and professionalism.
Qualifications
Education:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant industrial field or engineering discipline is preferred.
- A valid Heavy Equipment trade certificate for Ontario is advantageous.
- Generic Supervisor Common Core certification is a plus.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with SAP and the Prometheus add-on in a planning or scheduling capacity.
- At least 3 years of experience in leading teams.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the trades sector.
Skills:
- Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- A commitment to safety and risk management.
- Demonstrated openness and transparency in all work-related interactions.
