Position Overview:

The role entails executing a diverse range of repairs and maintenance tasks for facilities, grounds, and equipment managed by Victoria Park Community Homes. The work is to be conducted in a secure and efficient manner.

Compensation:

Salary is competitive, ranging from $50,000 to $62,858.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address and fulfill maintenance requests from residents as needed.
  • Occasionally deliver notices and correspondence to residents on-site.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the property, including mechanical areas, common spaces, and emergency systems, to identify issues and take corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment as directed, ensuring all documentation is completed.
  • Organize and execute ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents.
  • Coordinate with landscaping services to ensure proper upkeep of outdoor areas.
  • Monitor garbage disposal areas and assist in maintaining cleanliness.
  • Diagnose and report significant issues with electrical, heating, cooling, and safety systems to the Building Manager.
  • Safely operate and maintain all tools and equipment necessary for job performance.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and notify the Property Manager when restocking is needed.
  • Assist with snow removal and salting as required.
  • Identify necessary maintenance supplies and equipment for effective building operations.
  • Conduct annual testing of safety devices and ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Prioritize and schedule work based on managerial directives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in line with the job's responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Dependable with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Enjoys maintaining and repairing building systems efficiently.
  • Experience in maintaining high-rise buildings and residential properties.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR is preferred; training will be provided.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment is necessary.
  • Must be bondable and able to complete a Bondability Affidavit.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Standard working hours are 35 hours per week, with occasional after-hours work required.
  • Must pass a background check at the candidate's expense.
