Property Maintenance Operator

Position Overview:
The role entails executing a diverse range of repairs and services for buildings, grounds, and equipment managed by Victoria Park Community Homes, ensuring safety and security at all times.
Compensation:
Salary range is between $50,000 and $62,858.

Key Responsibilities:
- Address and fulfill resident maintenance requests as needed.
- Occasionally deliver notices and correspondence to residents on-site.
- Conduct daily inspections of the property, including mechanical rooms, common areas, and stairwells, to identify issues and initiate corrective measures.
- Perform preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment as directed, ensuring all documentation is completed.
- Schedule and oversee ongoing maintenance tasks.
- Prepare vacant units for new residents.
- Coordinate with landscaping contractors to ensure proper maintenance of grounds.
- Check garbage compactor rooms and assist in maintaining cleanliness.
- Remove litter and empty garbage bins from common areas daily.
- Diagnose and report major issues with electrical, heating, cooling, and life safety systems.
- Safely operate and maintain all tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks.
- Manage inventory of materials and supplies, notifying management when restocking is necessary.
- Assist with snow removal and salting as required.
- Identify maintenance supplies and equipment needs for building operations.
- Conduct annual testing of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and monthly fire panel inspections, ensuring compliance with fire codes.
- Organize and prioritize work based on management directives.
- Perform additional related duties as outlined in the job summary.
Qualifications:
- Dependable with a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Enjoys maintaining and repairing building components efficiently.
- Experience in maintaining high-rise buildings and residential properties.
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
- Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR, with training provided by the employer.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of a valid Class G Ontario Driver's license.
- Regular use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to pass a police clearance check.
- Availability for occasional work outside standard hours.
